Week 8 of Internship

This week may or may not have been one of the busiest weeks of my internship (in a merchandising/store display sense)! I did a lot of rearranging in the store and I am very happy with it! This week I learned a lot about store displays and flow of traffic. I also learned that window displays are SOOO EXPENSIVE! We did our first major store display and I must say… It is awesome!

Brace yourself- I did a lot so there’s a lot of pictures!

photo 2-4 The picture above are some new dresses we got in that I displayed in the center of the store! Super cute and summery!

This is a display I did of the new Diana Warner pieces we got in! I love the mixture of circle and rectangular- they were meant to be displayed together!

This is a display of some more Diana Warner (bottom) and 31 Bits pieces (top). 31 Bits is one of our give back brands that is uses fashion and design to empower and educate women in northern Uganda!

This is my display of our Lovely Bird hats and Frye bags! Clearly, I’m getting excited for fall!

Holy Pink Pewter headband shipment! We got a ton of these in, and they are going fast! People can’t get enough of this blinged our hair accessories!

The next couple pictures are of our window display! We worked so hard on it! Kate, the manager, did the ladder display with the shoes and I did everything else! (I’m proud, okay?!)

The glare is so bad in some of these! But I hung frames with lace behind certain parts where I overlapped them and displayed earrings! I also hung necklaces from the frames!

This probably in all took almost 7-8 hours! Between running the errands to get the things we needed, displaying them, trial and error, it very well could have ended up being 8 hours! It was so worth it and so much fun!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.

 Philippians 4:6-7

One of the girls that works at Bless with us is leaving us this week for good. 😦 She has only been with us for a couple months, but she has decided to embark on an 11 month journey to 11 different countries across the world to spread the word of God and simply put, to help people in need. The reason I chose this bible verse as my headline is because I can tell she’s nervous about her trip. We can all tell she’s nervous. But honestly, wouldn’t be?? She is going across the world where she won’t know if she has a place to stay, doesn’t know if she’ll even enjoy it, and will be away from her family and friends for 11 months. I know she is going to do GREAT though, and she will do great things. She has such a kind heart and loving spirit that I know this is perfect for her. We wish her the best and can’t wait to read all about it on her blog! You can follow it at:

This week was a lot of fun! We did a lot of merchandising around the store, as well as mannequin changes!

photo 1-13

Above is a picture of the post we did on Facebook and Instagram for our promotional sale where all earrings were 50% off! I want about one of each.. or more. 🙂

These are the middle room mannequins that I changed. I wanted to do a July 4th theme, but not go with the obvious red, white, and blue. So I chose a light pink, cream, and navy. Who says you can’t be patriotic in pink and navy..?

photo 1-12

I also moved the give-back table around and made some changes. For example, if you saw my previous post, there were two mannequins on either side of the table. I was tired of looking at those, as were the other Bless girls, so we decided it was time for a change!

These are some close ups of the give back table.

I also rearranged the bottom shelf of the table. I like it a lot better this way! Not as overwhelming!

These are the mannequins we put in the window for the 4th of July display! I am going to keep them up until next week is over with!

We also put out some candles and straightened up the FEED bags area.

These are just a few of our Pink Pewter headbands we got in this past week. OMG, girls go crazy over these.. no joke. I can’t even count how many we’ve sold since we posted these on Facebook and Instagram.

Week 4 of Interning

It’s not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it.

What a week this has been! So much going on- it gets stressful so easily!
An important lesson I learned this week was to channel that stress into something positive, and to react in a positive way! Positive actions = Positive outcomes!
This week a lot went on in the store!
In the picture below, our “give-back” table is shown. These are all the brands we sell that give back to either the community or a foreign country or village in need. I changed the mannequins and organized/re-did the smaller displays as well!
Who doesn’t love coral and navy?!

Since our workout apparel was at 50% off, I thought it would be a good idea to move these pieces up to the front shelves, as well as do a display on top! (Shown below)

This week I also moved the products displayed on the middle shelves around. It was like musical chairs this week… no joke. One thing would get moved to one place, then the products there would have to get moved somewhere else, and so on and so forth! Below is the display I did for the Frye and Liberty Black handbags and shoes!
These brands are known for their exquisite leathers and detail used on each product they make.

I also moved our camis and tanks to these shelves to add a soft touch to the rough and rustic leathers.
Image
I also wanted to do a display at the front of the store showcasing our sparkly sandals. They are SO CUTE, and were in an odd spot so they were a little hard to see! I’m hoping this new display will give them the attention they deserve!

Clearly, I like detail 🙂
I hope you all are having a fantastic week and had a great father’s day!
Thanks for reading!
